Omnigravity is a one of my favourite emcees that I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with. A rappers rapper; Omnigravity’s technical multi-syllabic style and epic freestyles have cemented him among Sydney’s elite underground hip hop artists.
Crowned the 2018 Rock the Block Freestyle Games champion, Omni has some of the slickest wordplay in the game. I once saw him freestyle for 10 minutes straight. Unbelievable.
I first met Omni at Spoken Vibes when I saw him and Masta Marx perform a set together. So dope. Their smooth wordplay and flow had the whole place bouncing. Big ups fellas.
It’s a real pleasure to have him on for a long overdue feature spotlight. The man, the myth, the legend : Omnigravity.
Enjoy!
Omnigravity - Down to Earth
The Sydney based music producer has been recognised by his infused electronic hip hop style. Having been influenced by the 90’s boom-bap style of hip hop and was inspired from both American and Australian music.
Omnigravity began to forge his rap techniques when he was 20 years old using his freestyle skills as hobby until he started to make some friends that would later encourage him to take it a step further and properly write a song to record it to be showcased and broadcasted for others to see.
So when did you take it to the next level bro?
“In 2018 I decided to take my music journey to the next step by studying electronic music production at the local TAFE (tech college). It was there were I would meet some like minded individuals who would be heading on the same journey, whether music was a hobby or something that they would want to pursue a career in.”
Where do you see the music taking you and what do you want people to get out of your music?
“I’ve got 2 objectives in the music industry. Make a name for myself as a hardworking musician and be able make a living off of the music that I create.
I’m on a mission to engage listeners and redefine the way we listen to day to day music. Whether it is live, recorded live footage, music video or just casual headphone experience the goal is to make you feel the music with more than just your ears.”
Air time
What rappers are you into?
“Aussie hip hop: Hilltop Hoods, Bliss N Eso & Seth Sentry.
Others include: Big L, Del (the Funky Homosapian), Mysdiggi, Eminem and Afro”
Dope. Let me give some context.
Omnigravity is most known for the collaborative projects he has worked on with one of his good friends known as Masta Marx, which he met in the local parkour scene. Their passion for music, playing games casually, and love for health and fitness would ignite a long-lasting friendship.
Omnigravity spontaneously released his music from 2014 until May 2018 when he decided to do his first official release of his track called amplify, which he released to all streaming platforms.
Big ups for taking the time to share with us bro.
I gotta say that Omnigravity and Masta Marx are 2 of my favourite emcees to grace the mic. I’m super-excited to announce that we are working on some long overdue collabs that I cannot wait to share with you all. If you are a fan of boom bap with all the trimmings then check out Omni.
I don’t know how many of you have tried to freestyle rap, but that shit is hard. I legit have seen Omni come off the top of the dome many, many times for extended periods of time. He is crazy good.
As always, thanks for rocking with ya boi Prim.
Red rattler was when I first experienced the gravity of his explosion… M. Marx and OG was on stage before a word was spoken I was like oh O’s just a sidekick… But FUCK little did I realise it was Superman (Marx) and Omnigravity was Batman.. O’s follow fuck next Level.
