I need to put all the rumours to rest and state that I am going back to Uni next week.. furthermore: I have not left my music studies to pursue a landscaping/gardening business that may or may not be named Prim’s Trims. I’m all in, no plan for plan B.
1st off just wanted to say thank you for your patience with this blog as things have been quite hectic lately. I released my 2nd Film clip of 2021 Listen to Learn last week – produced by the legend Burred Noises. If you haven’t seen it yet.. well there’s only so much I can do. Jokes. But seriously watch it.
Jokes aside, I would like to express my love and gratitude to everyone who follows the journey that is Primitive, reads this blog and supports ya boi. Much love fam.
So I was going to call my gardening side hustle Prim’s Mowing and then my boy BC came up with an even better name: Prim and Proper Gardening Services. Obviously a dope name, but BC wasn’t happy with that and one upped himself.
He messaged me the next day with:
Prim’s Trims.
What a legend. It has honestly been a lot of fun over the break working in gardens and landscaping. I’ve had some funny moments recently and one that stands out has to be a job I did in Belrose.
I rocked up to this job in the Micra with my wheel barrow and tools in the back. It’s amazing what you can fit in a hatchback. The job was pretty straight forward:
1 cubic metre of soil was to be distributed over different areas of the garden after levelling and clearing the areas of weeds etc.
Prim's Trims!
It was the beginning of the heatwave on this particular day and the job took me around 5.5 hours. Let me just say that I find these garden makeovers extremely satisfying in the depths of my soul.
Anyway, I was nearing the end and the client came out to see my progress. She was so stoked and commented that the job was pretty much done.
“I’m just ripping up the last of this stuff and I’ll leave.” I said.
“That’s grass.” She replied.
Don’t quit your day job Prim.
That’s probably the funniest story, but another comes to mind of a job Angel helped me out with in Dover Heights. The client wanted her back pavers area cleared – which had Onion Weed growing between the pavers.
I began pulling out the overgrown mess and after a while the client came out and said:
“You’re not ripping it all out are you?”
“Not all of it!” I replied.. Prim’s Trims.
Turns out the lady wanted the weeds to grow in between the pavers but not in the garden bed..
As fun as it’s been to get around Sydney doing this deeply satisfying work a few days a week, the Uni break is nearly up and I will be going back to full-time study. The 2nd Trimester will comprise of 8 components over 3 days per week. It’s a lot, but it will leave enough time to study and work I hope.
In March when Austudy goes back down to $550 a fortnight, I don’t know what I will do. I mean, I will work more I spose as I won’t have much choice. The good thing about the gardening work is that it requires minimal mental power so I can still focus on my studies.
Anyway, it’s shaping up to be a big year. I have released 2 filmclips already and the next video to drop will be Friendzone. It’s looking like my next release will be my 2nd EP though so keep your ears to the ground.
I have my 1st full-length album dropping after the EP and filmclip. I can’t give much away but I can say that it is produced by the homie Supaadry.
Also that there are 11 tracks and I have been writing like a Madman on the daily and am completing the 7th track as we speak. This is gonna be huge!
As always, thanks for rockin with ya boi Prim!
Prim’s Trims should be a reality tv show.. so much fun.. heaps excited about album drop. Keep hustling Bro.
