Prims 2020 – Reflect in Hope

  • by

2020 has been a challenging year for us all, to say the least, and it’s fair to say many of us just wish the thing would be over. Well, wishes do come true and as we head towards the end of 2020, I thought it would be fitting to do a blog reflecting on the year we’ve just had.

It’s not been all doom and gloom for me personally. I mean, obviously I’ve had my ups and downs, as we all have, but I have done some incredible things and hit some massive milestones.

So, I’m going to reflect on some of my favourite blogs for the year, some goals I’ve hit and just have a bit of a chin wag.

Enjoy!

2020

Tell us Prim

Look, I’ve had a lot of fun doing these blogs. I uploaded my 1st one at the beginning of May 2020 and since then I have created 50 of these bad boys. I love it. It’s a platform to share my inner thoughts, struggles and experiences as an Aussie Hip Hop Artist.. and a human being.

Some highlights that come to mind are the origin of the name Primitive, the epic 3 part saga of learning to rap, the story of Future Primitive, recording in a bank vault conversion, my top gigs, and of course meeting Angel at the Manly Jazz Festival.

There are so many more but for me personally – not including guest features – they are up there for me.

Before I go on, I just wanna give a shoutout to everyone following and reading this blog. It still amazes me when people that I would least expect come up to me and give props for writing these. People that I never would have imagined reading my blogs. Big ups beautiful people.

I won’t have the space to mention all the guest features and I don’t want to offend anyone by not mentioning them but I do appreciate each and every one of you taking the time to give a write up. You know who you are so big ups legends.

In saying that, some of the highlights have got to be DJ M-Doc and his epic rants, Matt Xander and his humour, DJ Happy Gardener for her insight into community radio, Gordon Burke of Josh Orange for all his knowledge and wisdom, GhostAttack for genuine warmth, Just Kane for his brutal honesty and my boi Bugsy for his humility.

2020 continued

2020.. the year that changed the world. Covid has seeped into every aspect of our lives and all but dictates our every move. I certainly miss the live gigs and energy of the crowd when performing. I have still kicked some massive goals in this past year. Leaving my corporate job that I hated and committing to a Music Degree is up there.

I also released 3 film clips, my debut EP and 6 singles. I have a new EP dropping early 2021 and STFU film clip dropping New Years Day. This is gonna be lit. Gotta take the wins where you can right.

Bring on 2021. For me 2021 is going to be about really grinding harder than ever to put out as much quality content that I can. More bars, more bangers.. just more. And grinding for my ultimate goal of selling a million records in 5 years. I have my debut album dropping with my boi Supaadry early 2021 and also Friendzone film clip.

Anyway, enough about me. Merry Christmas fuckers.

Join me next time for the epic guest feature DJ Yaknow?Check!

until next time, peace fam!
